The herbs used in the formulation of TETDA have been used by traditional CHINESE MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS for generations. Theses herbs possess many medicinal properties which have yet to be discovered by WESTERN MEDICINE. Modern medical research has only begun to elucidate some of the medicinal properties of theses herbs. Recent research has shown that the herbs used in the manufacture of TETDA possess compounds which have the following properties:

a.       They are anti-inflammatory. Theses compounds act to inhibit the migration of white cells thereby inhibiting local buildup of white cell metabolites which can produce pain and swelling of the affected area.

b.       They have analgesic properties. Theses compounds act directly to recuce pain.

c.       They promote clot dissolution. This helps in the faster resolution of he discolouration caused by bruising.

d.       They increase local blood flow. This is important for (a) removal of any buildup of toxins (e.g. lactic acid) in the local area, relieving muscle stiffness and increasing mobility; and (b) for the removal of cellular debris thus promoting  healing.

e.       They also directly promote healing of the injury thus decreasing the amount of “rest time” required for full recovery from the injury.

The injured area is first warmed and TETDA is applied directly to the site of injury and rubbed in gently. Warming of the injured area increases the absorption of TETDA into the injury site. There it begins to work directly on the injury to promote healing. Normal treatment of Muscula-‘skeletal injuries involve resting of the injury combined with the use of ice packs and ingestion of anti-inflammatories. Ingestion of anti-inflammatories has been known to cause gastro-intestinal upset. This does not happen with TETDA since it is only applies locally. TETDA can be a valuable adjunct to the normal treatment of Musculo-Skeletal injuries to help speed recovery.
